2. The principle of artificial hail suppression is to use artificial methods to exert influence on clouds over an area that may produce hail, so that hail embryos in the clouds cannot develop into hail, or small ice particles can land before they become large hail

The commonly used methods currently include:

① Directly transport catalysts such as dry ice, lead iodide, and silver iodide into the clouds using anti-aircraft guns, airplanes, or rockets;

② Shooting rockets and anti-aircraft guns at hail clouds on the ground, or dropping bombs or rockets at hail clouds on airplanes to disrupt the water transport to hail clouds;

③ Sending catalysts such as dry ice and silver iodide to the free atmosphere on the ground before the formation of cumulonimbus clouds increases the number of hail embryos, thereby reducing the size of hail;

④ Use anti-aircraft guns to sprinkle condensation nodules on warm cloud parts to reduce the moisture in the clouds. Alternatively, ice nuclei can be sprinkled on the cold cloud section to suppress hail embryo growth as guests.
